Childminding
A registered childminder looks afer one or more children under the age of 8 for more than a total of two hours a day, usually in their own home, for payment. These provide full day care and education for children from birth to the point when they start school. There are many different kinds of day nurseries, ie. private, local authority, employer or community run.
Pre-Schools and Playgroups
Pre-Schools and playgroups provide part-time childcare and education, usually for 2 to 5 year olds.
