What is Public Access for planning?
Public Access allows customers of the Planning Department to view planning applications on the internet. By making the information more widely available it is hoped this will facilitate a more transparent decision making process and earlier positive engagement with interested parties. Where can I find Public Access?
Public Access can be found be visiting the Councils Planning webpage or directly by going to
www.milton-keynes.gov.uk/publicaccess
What documents will be available?
All new planning applications received after the 11th November 2009 are available to view via the Public Access System. This will include all application forms, plans, consultation responses and public representations. This will allow interested parties to keep up to date with planning applications on the internet.
Can people comment or object using Public Access?
It is very easy for people to comment or object using the Public Access system and we would encourage people to use this system. You will need to register and make an account to comment.
I'm having trouble using Public Access
The documents won't open when I try to open them?
You may need to allow pop-ups for our website or turn the pop-up blocker off in order to open the document/s you wish to view. If you are using Internet Explorer to view these pages then the pop-up blocker can be disabled by going to the Tools Menu, selecting the 'pop-up blocker' option, and selecting disable pop-up blocker.
Alternativly on the same menu you can choose to open the 'Pop-up Blocker Settings' Menu and by entering http://edrms.milton-keynes.gov.uk/ into the exceptions list pop-up will be allowed only for our site whilst keeping the pop-up blocker turned on.
I've disabled my Pop-up Blocker but the document/s still won't open?
You may need to install the latest version of Adobe Acrobat Reader to open all our documents. You can download the latest version from here:
http://get.adobe.com/uk/reader/
If you still are experiencing problems with the Public Access website after trying the above solutions you may need to install the latest version of your internet browser
