International Day of the Disappeared
The International Day of the Disappeared (30 August) is a reminder that a great number of people are missing as a result of conflicts around the world.
The British Red Cross is currently trying to trace the relatives of over 1,000 families separated as a result of conflicts around the world, including Afghanistan, Eritrea, Sri Lanka, Somalia, Democratic Republic of Congo, and Iraq.

Bangla Stories
Have you looked at this website recently? Bangla Stories - which is comprised of a website and resource pack for teachers - charts the history of eight individuals who migrated from the state of Bengal after independence in 1947. Their stories help explain how and why ordinary people move from country to country. The resource in particular illustrates experiences of migration among Bengali Muslim communities in India, Bangladesh and the United Kingdom.
