Translation
The Council works hard towards keeping communication channels open between community groups living in Milton Keynes.
The Council recognises that there will be always some circumstances in which translation is appropriate, like access to essential housing services such as housing repairs/maintenance.
Where we choose to translate, we will use this as an opportunity to teach English, by using pictures instead of translation in a document in English, or bilingual translation.
The Councils approach to translation is informed by the recommendations of the Commission on Integration and Cohesion final report ‘Our Shared Future’.
