Rent Consultation

Thank you to everybody who responded to the rent consultation earlier this year. We had 1713 responses. The results were:

  • 983 for the 5.5% increase
  • 384 for the 6.5% increase
  • 205 for the 7.5% increase
  • 19 people requested a different % of increase
  • 122 people gave no comment

Getting Involved

The Resident Involvement Team offer many great opportunities for you to get involved from fun days and trips to discussion groups and online forums. They also offer free training to Milton Keynes Council tenants providing a range of useful everyday skills.

New Council Priorities for 2009 - 2011

The Council has consulted with the public, our partners, considered national and regional issues, decided which services we need to improve and translated these in to six Council Priorities for 2009/10 to 2010/11. Important informartion about MyChoice HomeBuy

As a result of the high level of demand experienced for the MyChoice HomeBuy equity loan scheme, Catalyst are presently unable to process any further applications for property purchases through this scheme.

Any applications received will be held on a waiting list and in the event that the situation changes all eligible individuals will be notified at the appropriate time.

Please note that MyChoice HomeBuy is not the only option so do still contact and register with Catalyst.

Housing Service inspection report 2008

Milton Keynes Housing landlord* Service was inspected by the Audit Commission in February 2008. We were rated as a 2 star service with promising prospects. Please follow this link to read the Audit commission press release on the housing inspection result 2008.

*The Housing Landlord service maintains and manages over 11,000 council homes on a day to day basis. The service provides a management service to the tenants of these homes – managing tenancies; collecting rent; letting empty properties; repairs and building services; delivering the Decent Homes improvement programme; Right to Buy; Former Tenants Debt and rechargeable recovery.

Somali Housing Options DVD

Xulashooyinka Guriyaha Milton Keynes

Milton Keynes Council Housing Service was awarded a government grant in 2007 to help prevent Homelessness in the Somali Community.

The grant helped fund the production of a DVD providing housing advice to the Somali Community in their own language. You can view the DVD here Somali Housing Options DVD
