  • To enable the affordable, sustainable housing that is needed in the Borough.

The team's work includes:

  • Analysing the housing needs of the Milton Keynes community
  • Producing strategies that will identify ways in which the housing needs will be met
  • Enabling housing development and in particular affordable housing development throughout the borough.

Draft Strategic Housing Market Assessment 2008

Housing Strategy and Development - Average House Prices - Latest StatisticsOpinion Research Services (ORS) were commissioned by Milton Keynes Council and English Partnerships to undertake a Housing Strategy and Development - StatisticsStrategic Housing Market Assessment 2008, which includes a comprehensive study of current and future housing requirements and housing need. The assessment was undertaken to inform local policies, in particular the new Housing Strategy and the Core Strategy (part of the Local Development Framework)

The draft Milton Keynes Strategic Housing Market Assessment is currently out to public consultation. The consultation period closes at 12 noon on Friday 9th January 2009.

Housing Strategy

The Council has a legal duty to consider the housing conditions throughout the borough and the need for more housing accomodation.

In line with Government advice, we consider all the relevant aspects and come to some conclusions on the best way to deal with current and future needs (over 3 to 5 years) in the Housing Strategy.
