About the Laundry Service
People across Milton Keynes including rural areas who need help with their laundry turn to our friendly team.
You can be any age to use our value for money service. You must be receiving help from social care, either ongoing or short-term during illness or recovery.
We offer:
- One-off laundry collections
- Weekly laundry services
- Once or twice weekly incontinent laundry collections
As well as clothes, bedlinen and towels, we also accept machine washable duvets and quilts, blankets and throws, chair covers and other large washable items.
How the service works
- We provide you with a laundry bag.
- Our driver collects your laundry from your home on an agreed day.
- Your items are washed using the correct wash cycle, then tumble dried. Certain items like bedlinen and shirts are roller ironed.
- Incontinent laundry is washed at 60°C to help remove bacteria.
- Your clean laundry is carefully packed and returned to you one week later.
If needed, you can send more than one bag each week. Extra charges may apply.
All items must be machine washable and suitable for the tumble drier. We use roller irons, so things like shirt collars and fitted sheets may not have the same finish as hand ironing.
How much it costs
It’s a competitive service – under £20 for either a standard bag (which holds around 10lbs of laundry – roughly the size of a medium load in a household machine) or an incontinent bag (which holds 18lbs).
How to get in touch
If you think we could help you or someone you care for, please get in touch. If you have a social worker, they can arrange this for you.
