Reserving an Item from the Lending Library
  • Books, CDs, DVDs, Blu-Ray Discs, Playaway Digital Audio Books and Audio Books may be reserved from Lending Library stock if not immediately available. There may be a charge for this service - please see the table below.
  • We can only take reservations for CDs, DVDs, Blu-ray discs, Playaway Digital Audio Books and Audio Books that are already in library stock or on order. You can, however, make suggestions for new purchases by filling in a suggestion form at one of our libraries or by completing our online-form.
  • Magazines and Reference Library stock cannot be reserved.
  • You must be a library member before you can reserve an item at the library. If you are not already a member here's how you can join the library.
  • You can place a reservation online - see below for how to do this - or at your local library.

Reserving the Item Online
  • Search the library catalogue for the item you want.
  • When you find the item, click on the title to open the catalogue entry. At the bottom of this page click on the grey button called Place Reservation and a screen will ask you for your library card number and PIN to place the reservation.
  • If you do not have a PIN or have forgotten your PIN here's what you need to do.
  • Enter your library card number and PIN and click on OK. You can then choose which library you would like to collect your item from.
  • There is a charge for this service - for details please see the table below. This reservation fee will be added to your card and you will be expected to pay the fee at your next visit to the library. You can pay by credit/debit card using our Online Payment service - you will need your library card and PIN to do this.
  • When the item is ready for collection we will notify you and advise you of the date by when it must be collected.
  • You can choose to receive notification by email if you prefer. To receive your notices this way please log on and check that we have your current email address in the Personal Details section.

Please note that the reservation fee is payable in advance and is not refundable.
