Equipment and Adaptations to help you at home

If you have a mobility problem or a disability, which makes it dificult to get around or do every day tasks we may be able help you by providing equipment or adaptations to your home to make life easier.

Equipment that can be provided includes:

  • Bath seats
  • Raised toilet seats

Changes that can be made to your home includes:
  • Rails and grips to help with mobility
  • Ramps to the front door
  • Widening of doorways for wheelchair access
  • Repositioning or changing kitchen and bathroom fittings

Sometimes we can provide simple equipment straightaway, but for more complex needs a community care assessment may be necessary.

The service is provided by the Council working in partnership with the Occupational Therapy Team (OT) at Milton Keynes Community Health Service.

This can be organised by contacting Adult Social Care by clicking on the link above.

For Independent Advice on adaptations and equipment you can contact the Milton Keynes Centre for Integrated Living or phone 01908 231344.

Contact your GP for walking aids such as:
