Who we are and what we do
Infrastructure is the facilities and services that supply the area such as roads, schools, broadband, footpaths, leisure facilities and open spaces - the 'building blocks' of the community.
All these and future services need to be planned, maintained and built as well as funded by various means. The Infrastructure team plan, research and coordinate projects to ensure provisions are made for the people of Milton Keynes to live, work and enjoy living here.

The Eastern Expansion Area (405 hectares) extends to the A421 to the south and the A5130 and Broughton Brook to the west. There are a number of existing uses within the area including business and employment land and farm buildings but the site is generally low-lying, relatively flat land in agricultural use.

The Local Investment Plan (LIP) sets out the next phase of development and infrastructure plans for Milton Keynes. The Council will produce a consultation draft of the Plan in Summer 2012 taking into account all the findings from the above discussions and aims to present this to Cabinet for agreement in Autumn 2012.

The Western Expansion Area (WEA) covers the area between Stony Stratford, Two Mile Ash and Crownhill. This land is currently mainly used for agriculture and covers about 360 hectares of land.
