Milton Keynes has become a area of rapid growth and several new developments have commenced over the last few years.

Within Central Milton Keynes some of the new developments include: thehub:mk (at CBX III) which includes two new hotels (Jurys Inn and Ramada Encore), cafes and restaurants; new Sainsburys complex; and apartments in the Theatre District.

Work on a new office block (The Pinnacle - largest single office development to be built in CMK in 25 years) situated south of Midsummer Boulevard was completed summer 2009.

Residential developments - work on Phase 1 Campbell Park started Oct 2007 and will be built in five stages. The first stage (Croft Court) was completed Dec 2008. West End, CMK, a residential community for approximately 1,900 residential units - phase one (650 dwellings) has been awarded to Places for People and it is anticipated that work on site could start 2010.

Outside of the city centre two big developments which started in 2005 are now complete - the new ExtraCare Retirement Village at Willen (Lovat Fields) opened in July 2007 and the new Stadium at Denbigh North (home to MKDons) opened for the 2007/2008 football season. Some of the other developments sites include: residential at Ashland, Broughton, Broughton Gate, and Oxley Park, with employment sites at Magna Park and West Ashland. Regeneration work includes Wolverton (Wolverton Park, Royal Train Sheds etc) and Bletchley (new leisure centre, refurbishment of Queensway and Stephenson House).
