Description
In the 9th century this area was contained within the Secklow Hundred (A Hundred was a Saxon administrative area made up of units of land known as hides) The elders were entitled to gather outdoors at a special meeting place, usually a specially-constructed mound, to discuss land management, collect taxes and dispense justice.

Later the Secklow, Bunsty and Moulsoe Hundreds were combined to form the Newport Hundred which, coincidentally, covered roughly the same area as the current Borough of Milton Keynes.
In 1978 Secklow Mound was reconstructed on a site behind the Central Milton Keynes library to be preserved as an Ancient Monument.

Secklow Mound is situated off North Ninth Street, behind Central Milton Keynes Library.

A large car park is located nearby. Across the car park is a footbridge connecting to Conniburrow.
