What to do with old furniture, beds, white goods and bulky rubbish
Larger items of furniture can often cause problems if not disposed of properly, becoming both an eyesore and a hazard.
There are several different ways of disposing of bulky household items safely.
- Give it to charity or someone else
- Sell it
- Use a shop "take back" scheme when buying large items of furniture or white goods.
- Take it to one of our Community Recycling Centres (tips)
- Use Milton Keynes Council's collection service - charges apply
For £10 you can dispose of up to five items that you could take with you when you move house such as a table, bed, washing machine, etc. A higher charge for "fixed" items, such as kitchen units, applies.
If you are not sure what can be collected or you wish to arrange a collection please call 01908 252570 (we can accept payment by credit or debit card only)*.
