A feast fit for a footballer served up at local schools!

MK Dons first team player Adam Chicksen and Community Ambassador Paul Mitchell have headed back to school to help kick off a World Cup themed school meals promotion which started on Monday (7 June). The sportsmen tucked into lunch with pupils at Broughton Fields School in a bid to encourage parents and pupils to sign up for healthy school meals and take advantage of a range of free football related goodies.
The ‘Feast of Football' campaign is being run by Cygnet Catering with the support of Children and Young People's Services at Milton Keynes Council. For five weeks around the World Cup pupils who have school lunches through the council's contract will receive football related goodies with their meals. The offer is open to regular diners as well as pupils who have never tried school meals before.
After the first week, pupils will receive a pack of football-related puzzles and activities and be entered into a prize draw to win one of many sports related prizes. In weeks two to four, pupils will receive a sticker with every meal, meaning that by the end of week four they will have competed the set of 15 stickers.
In week five, all pupils who receive school meals can enter a competition to design a winner's trophy with the chance to win £50 worth of prizes or sports vouchers.
Adam Chicksen said: “I am really pleased to be involved in the Feast of Football. The school dinners on offer in MK schools are really tasty and healthy too. The meal I had with the pupils at Broughton Fields School was very similar to the type of things we eat as footballers to keep at the top of our game. There's a great choice and a good balance of food groups to keep children energised and alert for the rest of the school day.”
