School admissions in Milton Keynes

The Council's role in school admissions
Milton Keynes Council is the admissions authority for all community and voluntary controlled schools. However, the council coordinates admissions for all Milton Keynes schools, including foundation and voluntary aided schools and academies.

These pages contain information and guidance on applying for a school place in Milton Keynes.

Please note that if you live in Milton Keynes you need to apply to this council. If you live outside the borough you should apply through the home authority but may request a place at a school in Milton Keynes.

Pre-school age children
If your child was born between 1.9.2009 and 31.8.2010 then he or she is due to start school in September 2014. In mid September 2013 you will be able to access the primary admission page and follow the instructions on how to apply for a school place.

A leaflet will be available from June 2013 for parents with children born on or after 01.09.2010 advising when their child is due to start school and when to apply.
