Slated Row is a special school providing mainly for children who have moderate learning difficulties, although some have more complex special educational needs. The school is set in attractive grounds in Wolverton in the north of Milton Keynes. It caters for 160 pupils aged from 4 to 19, who come to the school from many parts of Milton Keynes and the surrounding areas.
We aim to create a happy, safe learning environment where everyone feels valued and able to make a positive contribution to it. We aim to challenge pupils to develop the knowledge, skills and understanding that will help them prepare for the opportunities and experiences of adult life.
Key features:
- The school is a happy place to work and we are proud of our students’ achievements
- We believe strongly that pupils make most progress when supported by a strong partnership between parents and the school
- Excellent opportunities to develop these links are provided through Home/School books, reading record books, open days, parents’ evenings, productions, social events and sporting activities
- The school has close working relationships with outside agencies, such as speech and language therapists, occupational therapists and other education support staff
- The school is very well equipped to deliver the full range of subjects, including a purpose built suite, science laboratory and ICT network base. The new Sixth Form centre, library and drama/music studio are now fully integrated into the school timetable
- We regularly celebrate our pupils’ success through awards, certificates, good work assemblies, praise, letters home and by displaying work in school
