The latest Milton Keynes Social Atlas has been published on the MKi Observatory website. The Social Atlas is a key tool bringing together a wide range of social and economic indicators that give a quantitative description of all estates across Milton Keynes. In doing so it has become a 'must-have' essential resource for anyone who wants to understand the fabric of Milton Keynes and the issues faced by communities in different parts of the city.

The 2007/8 Population Bulletin provides a comprehensive update of demographic information for Milton Keynes. It contains information such as population projections by age, wards, parishes, and estates and settlements. It also contains information on ethnicity, household size and housing growth. The number of people claiming jobseekers allowance in Milton Keynes fell by 111 claimants to a rate of 2.5% between September and October 2008. This compares to a rate of 1.8% in October 2007. The MK unemployment rate is above the United Kingdom average of 2.6% and above the rate of 1.6% for the South East. The Index of Multiple Deprivation 2007 has just been released. It outlines that 15 Lower Super Output Areas in Milton Keynes are within the 20% most deprived in England, this compares to 13 in 2004. Overall however, Milton Keynes rank improved from 204th most deprived to 212th between 2004 and 2007.
