Unemployment

Statistics - Job CentreThe number of people claiming jobseekers allowance in Milton Keynes fell by 111 claimants to a rate of 2.5% between September and October 2008. This compares to a rate of 1.8% in October 2007. The MK unemployment rate is above the United Kingdom average of 2.6% and above the rate of 1.6% for the South East. Index of Multiple Deprivation 2007

Statistics - Index of Deprivation MapThe Index of Multiple Deprivation 2007 has just been released. It outlines that 15 Lower Super Output Areas in Milton Keynes are within the 20% most deprived in England, this compares to 13 in 2004. Overall however, Milton Keynes rank improved from 204th most deprived to 212th between 2004 and 2007.
