Keeping warm needn’t cost us the earth
Getting your home insulated isn’t normally one of the first things that people think of in terms of doing their bit for a Sustainable Environment, but it’s a great way to save energy in the home, reducing the amount of polluting carbon dioxide gas we pump out into the atmosphere. And a well insulated home not only keeps you warmer in the winter, it’ll also keep you cooler in the summer!
The good news is that there is a range of grant and discount schemes available, including loft and cavity wall insulation, low energy lightbulbs and renewable energy for the home. Just give your local Energy Efficiency Advice Centre a call on 0800 512 012 for free and impartial energy efficiency advice and information – in most cases they will be able to refer you directly onto the best discount scheme for you, so you only need to make one call.
