The consultation period for the Milton Keynes Council Bus Strategy begins on the 17th September and ends on the 12th November 2008.

From 1st April 2008, those aged 60 or over or eligible disabled people living in England will be able to enjoy free, off-peak local bus travel anywhere in England.
Crossing Options for the V4 Watling St and H4 Dansteed Way
The next stage in the decision making process.
The council has instructed transport consultants Mouchel to undertake a review of crossing options available to the council. Their task is to assess in detail all the crossing options for pedestrians and cyclists along V4 Watling Street and H4 Dansteed Way to and from the Western Expansion Area. On completion, the study's findings will be considered by the Council's Environment Policy Development Committee and then the Council's Cabinet who will then consider the options presented.
As the city grows, it is important that we effectively manage to keep traffic flowing.The Western Expansion Area is development of over 6,000 houses and is equivalent to building a town the size of Newport Pagnell next to the V4. This presents significant traffic management challenges to ensure that queues are minimised and that traffic moves freely and easily.
The new improved Milton Keynes Community Transport (MKCT) was launched on June 22, 2006. After extensive review and consultation with users. MKCT replaces Fastchair and Group Travel and and now operates under the new name MK PlusBus.

Local Transport Plan 2006-07 to 2010-11
Over the next 25 years Milton Keynes will experience significant growth in population and employment. This will change the travel demands that our second Local Transport Plan 2006-07 to 2010-11 (LTP2) is designed to deal with.
The Council has a continuing programme of schemes to improve the safety and operation of the highway network. Many of these schemes originate from requests made by the public.
