Pay your Council Tax by Direct Debit

You have the option to pay your Council Tax by Direct Debit on four different dates each month: the 1st, 8th, 20th, or 28th.

You can also choose to pay in either 10 or 12 monthly instalments, which may be adjusted based on the number of months remaining in the financial year.

Setting up a Direct Debit is a simple and convenient way to pay your Council Tax automatically each month. Once you have set up the Direct Debit, you can relax knowing that your payments will be made on time, every time.

Paying by Direct Debit comes with several advantages, one of which is the protection provided by the Direct Debit Guarantee. If an error occurs, which is unlikely to happen, you will receive a refund for the full amount from your bank or building society. A lot of Council Taxpayers in the UK are already benefiting from paying through Direct Debit, as it saves them a considerable amount of time every month.

Setting up your Direct Debit couldn't be easier. Simply log in to your Online Council Tax Portal using your unique online key and Council Tax number, both can be found on your last Council Tax bill.

While you're online and logged on, why not register for e-billing? It’s quick, secure and helps us to reduce our costs so we can continue to provide the services you need.
