Please note that due to the end of year requirements, there will be a delay in any refunds reaching your bank account. If you have already requested a refund and have not received the monies, please do not complete another form.

Any requested refunds will not be processed until 3 April 2024.

Bank Holiday Notice

Due to the Easter bank holidays the Housing Benefit payments will be in bank accounts on Tuesday 2 April instead of Monday 1 April.

To reduce the amount we spend on paper and postage, from February 2024 we will be contacting our residents by voice messages, text and email. If you receive a call or a message from Milton Keynes City Council because you are late paying your council tax please be assured that the call is genuine but if you are concerned you can log into your online account using the link below to check your Council Tax account and make payment. There is no need to contact us if you have recently paid and brought your account up-to-date.

Struggling to pay

What to do if you are struggling to pay your Council Tax and how we can help you.

We no longer send out Council Tax Reduction (CTR) notifications. Your Council Tax bill confirms the CTR award amount. The back of your bill also provides you with information regarding your rights of appeal and duty to notify a change in circumstances.  You can view your CTR breakdown by registering and logging into 'Online Council Tax Account'. You can also request a copy of your statement by contacting the Benefits Team

Please note the Council Tax Team operate a reduced service every Wednesday to allow for staff training and to focus on processing. We have limited our resource on this day to help those who are vulnerable or unable to use our online facilities and you may be redirected.
