Where can I get married or hold a ceremony?
You can marry in any licensed venue or Register Office in England and Wales. A full list of approved premises in England and Wales can be found on the www.gov.uk website.
For religious weddings you should check with the church or place of worship in regards to the requirements and availability.
Before booking your notice appointment with us you do need to know exactly where you wish the ceremony to take place. If your ceremony is to take place at a licensed venue, then you should contact them first to discuss their availability before contacting us.
If both parties to the marriage are either British citizens or EEA nationals you must complete the legal notice requirements at your local Register Office.
If one or both parties to the marriage is a non-EEA national you must complete the legal requirements at a Designated Register Offices in England and Wales, such as Milton Keynes.

Please check the registration service fees which are chargeable for your ceremony. These fees are in addition to those payable directly to your venue.
Apply for, or renew, a licence to hold civil marriages or civil partnership ceremonies at your venue.
When a current licence is due for renewal or an application is received for a new licence a public notice will be displayed. Find more details of any current public notices.
