What is Resilience?

Resilience is the ability to bounce back from an unwelcome event.

Is your organisation resilient?

Businesses can be disrupted in many ways.  Some examples are rapid downturn in the value of the GBP, a rise in the water table, a digger cutting through a computer cable, fire, pandemic, the loss of a key employee or reputational scandal.  Business Resilience is achieved by planning ahead for such incidents and putting effective arrangements in place.  These processes are called Risk Management (this link opens in a pop up window) and Business Continuity Management.

Creating an effective Business Continuity Plan will ensure that the really important parts of your enterprise survive and your customers and others who rely upon you, continue to receive service.

Milton Keynes Council supports local organisations to become more resilient and to develop business continuity awareness of their own.  Visit our Milton Keynes Business Resilience Forum page to find out more.

Milton Keynes Council also supports a multi-agency response to community based incidents.  Find out more via the Council's Emergency Planning pages.
