Milton Keynes Skills Strategy
Working with our partners we developed a Skills Strategy for 2015/16. This was approved by the council on 23 February 2016.
The Strategy aims to support the growth of the local economy by ensuring local people have the skills businesses need. This aim is supported by our four strategic priorities:
- raising standards in education and training provision
- raising awareness of education, training and employment opportunities by providing excellent information, advice and guidance
- creating a demand-led system between business and education
- widening participation and enhancing the labour pool
Work is currently underway to develop detailed action plans to support our four strategic priorities.
We have used the Milton Keynes Skills Strategy - Evidence Base Report (PDF, 2.9MB) to support the creation of this strategy. This provides a comprehensive overview of skills in Milton Keynes and includes chapters on schools, further and higher education, skills of the labour force, current skills needs and future skills needs.
