What is Our Voice?

Our Voice is a group of children and young people in care and those who have left care between the ages of 7-18 (up to 25 for disabled young people and those who are engaged in education) supported by Milton Keynes Council.

They aim to:

  • Be decision makers

  • Have an active involvement in projects which affect the transition and progress of children and young people

  • Make a difference to the lives of children and young people

  • Be listened to by social workers, managers, directors and the Corporate Parenting Panel

What do they do?

  • Talk to decision makers about being in care in Milton Keynes

  • Share ideas about how to improve services for children in care and care leavers

  • Help interview people who want to be foster carers and people who work with you

  • Organise events like fun days and award evenings to celebrate success if children in care and care leavers
