Summary

The Council is formally consulting on the following parking restrictions along various roads in Eaglestone:-

  • The introduction of ‘no waiting at any time’ restrictions along parts of Golden Drive and at its junctions with Saxon Street (V7), Marlborough Street (V8), Griffon Drive, Osprey Drive, Peregrine Close, Harlans Close, Hawkmoor Close and Montagu Drive;
  • The introduction of ‘no waiting at any time’ restrictions along parts of Harrier Drive and at its junctions with Saxon Street (V7), Marlborough Street (V8), Harrier Court, High Trees, Condor Close, Great Denson, Broad Dean, North Ridge, Ferndale, Buckingham Gate, Abbotsfield and Forest Rise;
  • The introduction of a residents permit parking area for the cul-de-sac on Golden Drive in Eaglestone for even numbers 144 and 158 Golden Drive.

The above proposals come as a result of concerns raised over nuisance and dangerous parking in a residential area by non-residents who are using the affected lengths of road as all day parking when working or visiting the nearby hospital.  Vehicles are being left in positions whereby they are obstructing accesses and driveway, on or near to junctions and pedestrian crossing points.

As the Highway Authority for the above lengths of road, Milton Keynes Council is satisfied that the introduction of the above proposed no waiting at any time restrictions and residents permit parking area will help alleviate obstruction, allow the free passage for emergency service vehicles, prevent displacement parking and encourage a safer environment for motorists, pedestrians and cyclists throughout.

You can view copies of the proposed Orders, the notice of proposal, the Statement of Reasons and the proposal plan on the left hand column of this webpage under the heading ‘documents’.
