Statutory Consultation: Proposed Traffic Regulation Order to introduce 24-hour clearway restriction and prohibition of right turn restriction on A421 (TRO-305).
Milton Keynes Council is formally consulting on the following proposed traffic regulation Order:
THE COUNCIL OF THE BOROUGH OF MILTON KEYNES A421, MILTON KEYNES) (24 HOUR CLEARWAY AND PROHIBITION OF RIGHT TURN) ORDER 2018) VARIATION ORDER 2020
The proposed Order will introduce the following restrictions:
- To introduce a 24-hour clearway restriction on both sides of the A421 from its junction with Kingston Roundabout to the Milton Keynes and Bedfordshire borough boundary.
- To prohibit right turn manoeuvres from the unnamed access leading to Pond 3A onto A421. All vehicles entering onto the A421 from the unnamed access road shall turn left only.
The proposals form part of the A421 dual carriageway scheme and will tie-in with Central Bedfordshire Councils 24-hour clearway and no left turns on the A421.
The Council considers it expedient to introduce the 24-hour clearway and prohibition of right turn restriction:
- to facilitate the expeditious, convenient and safe movement of traffic along the affected lengths of road;
- for avoiding danger to persons using the road or for preventing the likelihood of any such danger arising.
The Council is now formally consulting on the proposed restrictions.
