Keeping or Training Animals for Exhibition
The Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) (England) Regulations 2018 covers the keeping or training of animals for exhibition in the course of a business for educational or entertainment purposes
- to any audience attending in person, or
- by the recording of visual images of them by any form of technology that enables the display of such images
From 1st October 2018, all new applications & renewals will be under these regulations.

How do I apply
Firstly you should read the general (PDF, 50KB) and specific (PDF, 63KB) conditions. You will need to meet these conditions before a licence is granted to you. We would recommend that you read the guidance (PDF, 616KB) to help you with this.

Fees
The fee is currently £105 for a three year licence.
Please note the application fee will need to be paid at the time of submitting the application form. Payments should be made by credit/debit card; we shall contact you on the telephone number provided once the application has been validated.
