Please Note: The Council no longer accepts cash payments for applications.  Where on line applications are submitted through the portal then you can pay by debit card but where you submit applications by post you will need to enclose a cheque or alternatively provide a phone number on the application form and we will contact you to take payment over the phone.

The Gambling Act 2005 provides the regime for licensing and regulation of commercial gambling in the UK.  The Act requires Licensing Authorities to produce a Statement of Gambling Principles every three years.  The fourth version of this statement came into effect on 14 January 2016 following adoption at full Council on 13 January 2016.

The Statement of Gambling Principles sets out the policies that the Licensing Authority will apply when making decisions on applications or notifications made under the Gambling Act 2005.   Adopted Statement of Gambling Licensing Policy 2018-2021 (PDF, 1MB)
