Join a cycle ride
From April to September we will be organising a range of cycle rides at venues across Milton Keynes. The rides are aimed at beginners and those getting back in to cycling or wanting to improve their confidence and fitness before joining one of the many local club rides.
All rides are free to join but places are limited so booking is required. Rides are led by experienced and trained ride leaders with local knowledge. Rides will start on Saturday 1st April 2017 and finish at the end of September.
Every Tuesday from 4th April, 5.30pm-7.00pm at Furzton Lake car park (off V4) (90mins)
Each ride will cover 4-16 miles depending on the ability and fitness of the riders who turn up. These rides will contain a small amount of informal training and advice when required and will help to boost the confidence of participants. No rider will be left behind. Participants must be over 18 years of age and able to ride a bike.
N.B. There is a height restriction at the car park entrance if you intend to arrive by car with a bike on a roof rack.
To book a place, find out more information or contact the specific ride leader visit the Let's Ride website.
Gentle rides for families to ride together using traffic-free routes around Milton Keynes. Each ride will last around one hour and cover 3-10 miles depending on the age and ability of the group.
Every Saturday, 10am-11.30am at the Milton Keynes Discovery Centre, Bradwell Abbey.
Every Sunday, 10am-11.30am at Caldecotte Lake, meeting outside the Caldecotte Arms.
Rides are free but places are limited and must be booked. To book your place on the ride or find out more information from the ride leader, please visit the Let's Ride website.
All participants must be able to ride a bike and children must be accompanied by a parent or carer. It is advisable for all riders to wear helmets, but we insist anyone under the age of 18 must wear a helmet.
N.B. Before starting any new physical activity, please consult your GP.
We are also offering subsidised formal cycle training for children and adults this year as well as 'learn to ride' and many other courses as part of the new Bikeability Plus scheme. Please take a look at the 'adult cycle training' page for more information.
