Obstructions on the public highway
You should report an obstruction on the public highway to us. This includes building materials, overgrown or overhanging vegetation, fences, unauthorised skips or advertising signs on the footways, redway or on the road and verge. By law, the public highway must not be obstructed so we can take action if something is causing a hazard.
Abandoned vehicles can be reported to our Environmental Crime Unit.
Report the obstruction, ideally with images of the problem, by email to Customer.email@example.com or call 01908 252353 or for an out of hour emergency call 01908 226699.
Obstruction by Vehicles
We can take enforcement action against a vehicle is parked in contravention of a parking restriction such as double yellow lines, get in touch with our Parking Team. Or call 01908 252309.
It is not an offence for someone to park legally in a parking space on a public road, even if it’s directly outside your house. If someone is parked on your driveway without permission this is trespassing and is a civil matter. You may be able to sort the issue out by speaking to the owner of the vehicle first or visit Citizens Advice for advice and information.
A vehicle parked in such a way that it is causing a road safety issue can be reported to Thames Valley Police on 101 or visit their website, www.thamesvalley.police.uk
