What do my rent & service charges pay for?
The rent which is collected has to cover the cost of the services we provide our residents, such as:
• Repairs and maintenance
• Heating and lighting
• Building insurances
• Management costs, salaries, overheads etc
• Major works (capital programme)
• Repaying loans borrowed to maintain our properties (capital debts)
The money we collect and spend is held in the Housing Revenue Account.
If we do not collect the money due to us, we would not be able to provide some of the services.
