Struggling with your rent?

If you have problems coping with your rent payments and other debts, the sooner you talk to us, the sooner we can help

It's always easier to sort things out when arrears are small, and even when arrears are high we can still help you.

We are always happy to advise you, even if you don't have a problem at the moment. If you can see a problem coming, don't wait until it arrives - talk to us as soon as possible.

What can you do?

  • Contact your housing officer for a financial review. This is an opportunity for us to work with you.  Your housing officer will look at your income and expenditure with you and review if you are getting the benefits you are entitled too. They may also be able to offer information on reducing outgoings.
  • Check 'Who else might help' in the links.

  • Make sure you talk to all the people you owe money to.

Paying something is always better than nothing at all - pay what you can and talk to your Housing Officer as soon as possible.

Don't delay

You need to move fast! If you don't tell us you have a problem, or if you don't keep to an agreement to pay off the debt, we will take legal action, and that could mean eviction.
