Ways to pay your rent
We can set up a Direct Debit over the phone. Please call us on 01908 252937. Alternatively, please print the Direct Debit Form (DOC, 143KB), fill in the details and post it back to us. You can choose when these payments will be taken from your bank account. People who pay by Direct Debit are fully protected by the Direct Debit Guarantee. The options are:
- Four weekly
- Monthly (1st to 28th any day of the month)
Online rent account
Payments can be made 24 hours a day. You will need your credit or debit card and the 9 digit rent reference number beginning with 80, which can be found on your statement:
- Online Rent Account - You will need your payment reference number to activate your account. The benefits of registering for an online account include real-time balance, payments and viewing account information.
- If you know how much you need to pay you can still use our older Online Rent Payments system.
You can make arrangements with your bank to set up a regular standing order for your rent payments. The bank details to set up the standing order are

If you choose to pay by standing order, it will be your responsibility to make sure that payments reach the Council on time and that you make the correct payments.
24 Hour Automated Telephone Payment Line
You can make debit or credit card payments by phone at any time, day or night, using our 24-Hour automated payment line. Simply call on 01908 253940. You will need your 9 digit rent payment reference (starting 80), which can be found on your rent payment swipe card.
During office hours (9am - 5pm, Monday to Friday) you can call the Housing Service on 01908 252937 (option 1), for debit or credit card payments.
Post Office or Paypoint outlets
You can pay your rent at any Post Office or Paypoint outlet in the country using your rent payment swipe card or your barcode (on some of our letters). Payments can be made by debit card, cheque or in cash.
