Arts & Education
MAKE (MK's Cultural Education Partnership)
MAKE, MK's Cultural Education Partnership is led by the Arts and Heritage Alliance Milton Keynes (AHA-MK). AHA-MK has set up the Milton Keynes Cultural Education Partnership with support from Artswork and in response to Arts Council England’s Cultural Education Challenge. This asks arts and cultural organisations, educational institutions and local authorities to come together to:
- Drive a locally joined-up arts and cultural offer
- Share resources
- Create a more consistent, coherent and visible delivery of cultural education to offer high quality arts and cultural education to all children and young people (CYP).
MAKE now has over 40 members working across education, culture, health and youth. For more information and to view the collaborative Cultural Education Strategy please see the AHA-MK website.
Support for Schools
There is national support from Arts Council England supported organisation Artswork who work to enhance the number of Artsmark Schools and Arts Awards completed by young people. Also locally numerous arts & heritage organisations offer both educational visits to their buildings and workshops in schools. Artswork are creating an online database of organisation which can be of use to schools when looking for people to work with: Connecting with Cultures.
If you are a school and would like to explore how you could engage with artists please email us: firstname.lastname@example.org
