Most organisations have Facebook accounts, and some have Twitter too so do look around!
All our arts and heritage organisations rely on active and willing volunteers to help with their delivery and some organisations could not operate without volunteers. Many people find regular volunteering a fun and enjoyable way of meeting new people, ‘putting something back’ into the community and remaining healthy and socially active.
The range of opportunities is also wide, from events and activities support, running workshops, guiding and teaching members of the public, groups and schools, to grounds maintenance, technical design and even cooking!
If you are interested in volunteering for an arts or heritage organisation you may wish to contact the Community Action Volunteer Centre: speak to Debbie or Shona at Community Action MK, 01908 661623.
Alternatively, you can check the arts and heritage organisations' websites to see if they are offering volunteering opportunities, or contact them directly. Visit our overview page where you'll find list of organisations and links to their websites.
Most organisations are looking for board members/trustees especially those with skills in finance, marketing, business development and HR. If you would be interested in a trusteeship, drop the arts team an email letting them know your interest: firstname.lastname@example.org.
