Milton Keynes Health Walks

Enjoy Milton Keynes hidden parks and spaces and feel safe in a group with Milton Keynes Health Walks. Meet new people, improve your health and have fun for FREE.

All walks are led by enthusiastic, friendly and fully trained volunteer walk leaders.

The Health Walking groups meet at various locations across Milton Keynes every day of the week. Distance of walks range from 1.5 to 4 miles (30 minutes to 1½  hours). Stretch your legs, meet new people and stay activeMost walks are also followed by social refreshments.

The MK Walking for Health scheme is coordinated by the Council, please contact us for more details, or check the website to find a walk suitable for you.

Age UK MK - Walking Befriending

Age UK Milton Keynes are supporting older people who would like to benefit from regular exercise but feel nervous going out by themselves. The Age UK MK volunteers will walk and talk at a pace and distance which is right for you.

Nordic Walking

Nordic Walking was originally used by elite cross country skiers as a way to keep in shape in the summer. Now it has grown into a popular way for people to gain fitness, tone up, lose weight and improve their health.

Nordic Walking is suitable for all ages and ability levels. Poles are used to propel you along and it is practiced on flat surface with a Nordic walking Instructor ensuring you are walking at a pace right for you. Find out more about nordic walking.


Walking Volunteering Opportunities

Volunteers are essential in expanding and sustaining the health walking programme in MK. From volunteer walk leaders and assistants, to admin and promotion roles, our volunteers do such a fantastic job in supporting and developing the Walking for Health programme in Milton Keynes.
