Summer Reading Challenge
Animal Agents was the 2017 Summer Reading Challenge produced by The Reading Agency and delivered by libraries all over the UK. Milton Keynes Libraries invited children of all ages to take part once again this year.
Children’s reading can “dip” during the summer holidays. The Reading Agency’s Annual Summer Reading Challenge helps by getting nearly one million children into libraries (around 3,000 in Milton Keynes last year) to maintain reading skills and confidence.
Because everything changes when we read.
We hoped as many children as possible were encouraged to read or have help reading six library books over the summer holidays. Along the way there were stickers and a bookmark to collect plus a certificate and medal for completing the challenge.
Last year we had nearly 3000 children participating in the Reading Challenge and will let you know how many took part in 2017 as soon as we can!
Animal Agents, Summer Reading Challenge began on Friday 21 July and ended Saturday 9 September 2017.
With thousands of great books waiting to be read at your local library there is never an excuse for boredom at any time of the year.
