COVID-19 ‘Key Education Contact’ for settings

We recognise that you’re continuing to take swift, measured action in relation to suspected and confirmed cases of COVID-19.  This includes working with health and education colleagues to protect children, staff and families.

However, we also know that when you have confirmed cases, managing and communicating this is taking up a lot of your time.  To support you we’ve established a Key Education Contact for settings.

In the event you have a confirmed case, please get in touch with your key contact as soon as possible.  They will help and support you with information sharing between agencies and signposting to key services.  If it’s necessary to establish an Incident Management Team (IMT) to support you setting, the Key Education Contact will be part of this.

The Key Education Contact for settings is Belinda Woodcock - Improvement Partner for Early Years on 01908 254929

If you are unable to contact Belinda, please contact Early Years Enquiries on 01908 254071 or 254509

Announcements

COVID-19 Community Champions

Lots of people have already signed up to be a COVID-19 Community Champion in Milton Keynes.  Being a COVID-19 Community Champion is an easy way to make a practical difference, by sharing the latest information and advice with friends and families.

If you’re interested, or know someone who might be, applications are via email.

For the latest information on COVID-19 in Milton Keynes, please watch our weekly video updates from Council Leader Pete Marland.

Flu vaccinations

We’re encouraging all clinically at risk or vulnerable frontline staff to get vaccinated through the national flu vaccination programme.  This is generally done via the GP.

The flu vaccine is the best way to protect against the circulating flu virus.  It’s important so that staff can protect themselves, family and friends and potentially vulnerable children and young people.  It will also help support the health and resilience of your workforce.

Unfortunately, school staff are not routinely eligible for vaccination through the national flu programme.  For more information and a full list of eligible groups - please see Appendix A of this letter from the Department of Health and Social Care and Public Health England
