spacer image spacer image

Milton Keynes Council, in conjunction with the governing body of St Mary’s Wavendon CE Primary School, is considering a proposal to change the age range of the school from 4 to 11 years to 2 to 11 years to enable the school to offer nursery provision.

The proposal document is attached and can be found on the council website here along with the opportunity there to respond.  This consultation seeks views from parents and staff directly involved with the school, from other local schools and any other interested parties. We are keen to hear as many views as possible about this proposal.

Any person may support, object or make comments by completing the online form on the council website, by emailing sufficiencyandaccess@milton-keynes.gov.uk or in writing to the Education Sufficiency department at the council address below.

The closing date for comments is 10 November 2019.

MKC’s Transport team deliver bicycle training sessions across Milton Keynes – providing people with the skills to increase their confidence and safety.

Cycling is a healthy form of transport and helps to reduce unnecessary carbon emissions.

The training sessions are suitable for all abilities and can be completed individually, in groups or as a family.

We’ll be making improvements to our public meeting spaces and rooms used by councillors at Civic, as part of work to make sure we have professional and accessible facilities for everyone getting involved in council meetings.  This includes an update of the Committee Suite, making the space outside the Council Chamber more multi-functional, and improving Café Civic.  We’ll also be looking at how to improve the ground floor reception area, particularly thinking about safety and security.

From next week for two weeks, Facilities colleagues will be sharing some of the emerging designs on a display outside the Council Chamber.  Please take a look and give any feedback to zahra.dhamani@milton-keynes.gov.uk by 27 September.

spacer image spacer image

A new Councillor Portal is now ready to roll out.  The portal, which was developed and tested with the help of a cross party councillor working group, has been designed to be an effective ‘online work station’ for councillors, giving specific headlines about your own ward, an extended mapping feature showing planning applications in detail, and is a way to record and monitor your casework.

Customer Services are running weekly training sessions throughout September and October every Wednesday between 17.00-19.00 in IT Training Room 1.26 at Civic.  You’ll receive your log-in details at the session.  Please email councillorcasework@milton-keynes.gov.uk to confirm your attendance, or contact Deborah.Carr@milton-keynes.gov.uk with any questions

Audit training has been arranged to take place at 7pm on the 24 September 2019 (Council Chamber) (as the Audit Committee that day has been moved). The training will cover both internal and external audit and will be delivered by Ernst and Young and Council Officers.

The Committee has had an invitation sent separately but the training is open to all Councillors.

Please feel free to inform us at meetings@milton-keynes.gov.uk if you intend to come so we have an idea of numbers.
