Early on Monday 8 August the team was notified by a utility company of a chemical spill across part of the B5388 Yardley Road near Olney. The team quickly put an emergency road closure in place and advised anyone likely to be affected such as local businesses, bin collections and residents.

Work to repair and rebuild Tyringham Bridge in the north of the borough is continuing well. The bridge was built in 1793 and is a listed Grade 1 Ancient Scheduled Monument.

Due to the historical significance of this bridge any work to it must be done with the consent of Historic England and the Environment Agency and requires specialist masonry skills.

Micro-surfacing works have started in areas of Bletchley to improve footpaths and new LED bulbs (lanterns) are also being installed. The coordinated works are all part of the MK-wide resurfacing programme that is being delivered this year by our service provider Ringway.

A new pedestrian crossing has been completed on the V10 Brickhill Street between Walton Park and Walnut Tree. The location is close to two schools and as a road safety measure, a pelican crossing was the best option to provide a safe crossing point for pedestrians.
