Broadband Delivery UK
The majority of Milton Keynes benefits from Superfast broadband and we’re working in partnership with our neighbouring councils (Central Bedfordshire, Bedford Borough and Luton Borough) to extend fibre coverage throughout.
BDUK1: 2014 – 2016
This Milton Keynes Council project extended fibre coverage to approximately 97% of premises in the borough.
BDUK2: 2016 - 2018
We’re working to provide fibre broadband to around 98% of the borough. Use our BDUK2 postcode checker to see if you’re included.
We have invested £2.7m in BDUK1 and 2 and hope to receive additional funding to achieve 100% coverage.
This Government project aims to provide means to access 2Mbps download speeds from every UK premises.
BDUK 3: 2019 – 2020
This project aims to bring superfast broadband infrastructure to some of the harder to reach parts of the Borough during 2019 and 2020. This will increase the overall coverage to around 99.1% of homes and businesses in Milton Keynes.

Subsidised Support for Basic Broadband
The Better Broadband Voucher Scheme is a UK-wide government subsidy scheme to provide an affordable, basic broadband installation to homes and businesses that are unable to access a broadband service with a download speed of at least 2 Mbps – and who will not benefit from the superfast broadband roll out within the next 12 months.
Since its launch in December 2015, the scheme has boosted the broadband speeds of more than 20,000 homes and businesses in some of the hardest to reach areas of the UK.
Households and businesses that are eligible to take advantage of the scheme have the installation and hardware costs of their connection subsidised to ensure their first year costs are no more than £400.
