Head of Service

Brett is currently the Head of Planning with responsibility for Development Management, Planning Policy, Infrastructure, Obligations, Technical Support Team and Land Charges.

The Service proactively supports the growth agenda, plan MK and 'urban renaissance' strategy for the centre of Milton Keynes and the 2050 plan, which sets out the next 50 years of economic housing and infrastructure growth for Milton Keynes.

Brett has 16 years’ professional planning experience, of which 6 years have been at a managerial level. Since gaining his degree in City, Regional & Town Planning at the University of Wales in 2001, Brett has worked for a number of local authorities, initially starting in Planning Policy and then leading into Development Management. Development Management has been the bedrock of his career.

During this time, Brett’s skills and experience have enabled him to help facilitate development that has achieved national and regional awards on design and sustainability. As well as this he has gained urban accolades on various sites.
