Planning Obligations for Central Milton Keynes
This Supplementary Planning Guidance (SPG) on Planning Obligations for Central Milton Keynes (CMK) identifies the main requirements for infrastructure and facilities, which may be required as a consequence of development within CMK. It also sets out the financial contributions for infrastructure and facilities, which will be sought by the Council, from applicants seeking planning consent for new development in CMK, where such development generates a need for the said infrastructure and facilities. The purpose of this document is to assist prospective developers by identifying the costs associated with development within CMK. By providing this guidance the Council also aims to minimise uncertainty and time spent negotiating on individual planning applications and thus speed up the decision making process, in line with government intentions for improving the planning system.
This document was produced by the Planning and Transport Department, together with assistance from other parts of the Council.
A draft of this document was issued for a four-week period of public consultation running from Thursday 27 March to Thursday 24 April. Representations received were considered by the Council's Cabinet at its meeting on Tuesday 15 July 2003. At that meeting the Cabinet resolved to modify the document in the light of the responses received and to adopt it as Supplementary Planning Guidance. This document is now a material consideration in the determination of planning applications within CMK. This SPG will be reviewed on a regular basis and will be incorporated into a Borough wide SPG document on Planning Obligations.
