Over the last 18 months we've been improving our processes and procedures and becoming more efficient. A key area is to ensure that our customers receive a high level of service at all times. The Planning Customer Charter (PDF, 63KB)sets out our pledge.

 

Pre-Application Advice Service for Planning

The Pre-application Advice Service is to assist applicants in determining whether planning permission is likely to be acceptable for a project/development or scheme prior to applying for planning permission. This helps to consider and where possible to resolve issues ahead of the submission of a formal planning application. Planning Performance Agreements (PPA)

Planning Performance Agreements are an agreement between a developer and a local planning authority setting out expectations and timescales for actions through the life-cycle of a planning scheme. Planning Performance Agreements aim to ensure appropriate resources and expertise are provided to advise on complex proposals, provide greater opportunity for dialogue through the planning process, help deliver high-quality development, ensure that all parties are signed up to collaboration and open communication.
