Scores of MK residents have been handed the keys to their new homes, just in time for Christmas.

New residents have been moving in through late November and into December as the Council proudly unveils its new developments.

The 15 new homes at various sites in Bletchley will house up to 60 people and have all been built on reconditioned brownfield sites previously occupied by Council garages.

The developments are in:

  • Aydon Court has 6 new homes
  • Wemyss Close has 5 new homes
  • Derbyshire Close has 4 new homes

The Scheme is also the 100th site registered with the Considerate Constructors Scheme. The Scheme recognises contractor and client commitments to improve the image of the construction industry in the eyes of the public.

Cabinet member responsible for housing and homelessness, Councillor Nigel Long was delighted to celebrate the new builds: “These developments show that we are staying true to our commitment to offer homes to those most in need reduce homelessness and the need for temporary accommodation.

“We will continue to provide genuinely affordable housing and the land has now been put to a much more productive use as we strive to build a Milton Keynes that remains an example to others of a growing and thriving city.”
