December 2019 Road Closures

Friday 29 November 2019

There will be some temporary closures in December for essential works being carried out on the M1 between Junctions 13 and 14 and on the A421 between Eagle Farm and Junction 13.

These closures are to facilitate essential works on both these schemes which are being carried out by Highways England (M1 Smart motorway) and Morgan Sindall (A421).

You may need to adjust your journey times to avoid these closures. Diversion routes will be in place for all road users and will be clearly signed.

The A421 will not be closed at the same time as the M1 (Jct 13-14) and this is being coordinated by Central Bedfordshire Council with Highways England so road users have an alternative route.

For anyone not wishing to use the M1 when the A421 is closed, a diversion route along the A422 is available instead.

Every effort has been made to reduce disruption to road users and the work will be carried out as quickly as possible.

Weather conditions or incidents on the road may affect these planned works.
