Hygiene Emergency Prohibition Order: Stumpy’s Shack

Thursday 16 July 2020

MK Council has stepped in to temporarily close a Wolverton takeaway after positive readings of cocaine swabs were found on food preparation surfaces.

Stumpy’s Shack on Radcliffe High Street was served a Hygiene Emergency Prohibition Notice by the Council’s Environmental Health team on Friday 10 July, temporarily closing the takeway.

The Notice was issued due to an imminent risk of injury to health posed by the presence of cocaine on food preparation surfaces and on/inside food storage equipment.

During a court hearing on 14 July, a Hygiene Emergency Prohibition Order was granted by the court which means the business is not allowed to trade until remedial actions have been taken.

The premises will be re-inspected by Environmental Health Officers in due course and the premises will only be allowed to reopen if the council is satisfied that the company has addressed the issues raised.
