Household Waste Recycling Centres reopen 18 May
Thursday 14 May 2020
MK Council will be re-opening all MK’s Household Waste Recycling Centres (HWRCs) from Monday 18 May. Booking is essential.
HWRCs were temporarily closed in March due to the COVID-19 pandemic in line with government guidance to protect the safety of public and staff.
The sites will be open seven days a week for pre-booked MK residents; Newport Pagnell and Bleak Hall open from 8:00am – 6:00pm, and New Bradwell from 7:00am – 7:00pm.
All sites will operate on a booking only basis to reduce risks and maintain social distancing. Without prior booking and their message of confirmation (displayed on a phone or printed), visitors will be refused entry. Residents can book by phone on 01908 252811.
The council expects high demand and urges residents to only book if the visit is essential, for instance to drop off waste that cannot be stored at home safely.
Cabinet Member for the Public Realm, Councillor Emily Darlington said: “I’d like to thank everyone for their patience while we closed our HWRCs. We are now able to open to MK residents on a booking only basis to manage demand and keep people safe.”
“To protect the safety of our teams and residents, we ask everyone to respect social distancing and all our sites will have CCTV in operation.”
