Children with Disabilities

Support and guidance for children who have profound and significant learning and/or physical disabilities and their families.

The Children with Disabilities Team works exclusively with children who have profound and significant learning and/or physical disabilities or life threatening illnesses and their families. They offer advice, guidance, signposting and support to families to enable them to make their own choices and decisions. They work in partnership with families and other professionals to safeguard all children and promote their well-being. The team also provides high-quality and family-centred services which are based on assessed needs.

Parents and professionals who require advice and guidance can contact the duty worker who will establish if support could be provided through the Children and Family Practices or if an assessment is required in order to gain a greater understanding of your child’s needs. Assessments consider a range of factors including your child’s health, disability, education, home and family circumstances, along with factors relating to your child’s social opportunities and life beyond home.

Duty Contact number: 01908 253617 between the hours of 9.30am – 1.00pm Monday to Friday.
